National Highway Transportation Safety Administration was recently informed by Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC that certain of its vehicles were assembled with defective second row seat belts.

According to Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC, the tightening torque of the bolt securing the seat belt anchor fitting is too low. This condition can lead to a failure of the seat belt assembly and serious injuries to the occupant in the event of a crash. The following model year 2013 vehicles may be affected by the defect:

GL350 BlueTEC
Gl450 4MATIC
Contact National Highway Traffic Safety Administration at 1 (888) 327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) if you own one of these defective cars. You can also contact Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC at 1 (800) 367-6372.

Drive safely.
